Caribbean Cruises
I surprised my wife for our anniversary by booking one of the offered Caribbean Cruises I saw on the internet. The internet is a great place to find out the prices and details of a cruise line. I did just that and found one of many Caribbean Cruises.
I shelled out about $700 a piece for our fare aboard the "Independence of the Seas" out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. We flew down to Florida from Bangor, Maine, one cold February day this year. They called it a six night western Caribbean cruise. My wife had been talking about cruises since we were married, especially Caribbean Cruises since I told her my boss went on one. The price we paid seemed reasonable considering the amount of food we ingested throughout the trip.
We had berths on one of the lower decks of the ship, but perhaps next time we will try to get a higher deck, which obviously costs more. We had sufficient space and did not spend that much time in the cabin. Otherwise, we might as well not have gone on vacation. Walking the ship is an exercise in itself, though quite a pleasant one.
Caribbean cruises are great when you come from Maine as you'll find only warm weather available. Our first stop was Belize City, Belize. We spent some time ashore after bargaining with the shopkeepers. We also bargained for souvenirs on our next two stops, which were in Mexico. They were Costa Maya and Cozumel.
I cannot recommend highly enough the change of pace Caribbean cruises offer, especially if it is your first cruise. Caribbean cruises are great for those stuck in cold weather for most of their lives. I loved it so much that if I had a website I would advertise Caribbean cruises!
