Vacation Cruise

I have such great memories of my vacation cruise! I can remember it like it was yesterday. We boarded the plank in Long Beach, California, headed for Mexico. The most memorial events for me on board were the many meal options. I think I tried them all. I can remember getting onboard the first day at about noon and the first thing I did after finding my room was explore where to have that first meal. We decided to eat in the buffet.

What makes the buffets stand out for me was that they were each themed. Every day we had a new cuisine. One day it was Mediterranean, the next day it was Japanese, American, and Italian. It was almost like exploring the country through the wonderful food options. The whole buffet was transformed into the colors and aromas of that country. The buffet was available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

I was also very impressed with the 'room service' menu on my vacation cruise. I had to try it out to see just what they were able to prepare for me. We were pleasantly surprised to find all kinds of sandwiches, sides, and desserts. Just be prepared to feel stuffed after that meal.

Everyone looks forward to the elegant dining that is an option on all vacation cruises. I was not disappointed when we had a menu of lobster and steak our second night on board. We had a wonderful table mate who was from Canada. We actually looked forward to seeing her at dinner time to catch up on what she did during the day, and what we had done for our day at sea. The desserts were decadent and marvelous! Regardless of your food tastes, you will find something on a cruise ship to match your taste buds.
